Hansjorg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery, NYU Langone Health, New York, NY, USA Facial feminization surgery (FFS) plays an instrumental role in the process of gender affirmation. These procedures are becoming increasingly appreciated for their ability to improve patient satisfaction and gender identity in a way that alleviates dysphoria and improves quality of life. In this study, we reviewed all the facial feminization procedures that were captured by the NSQIP database between the years of 2013 and 2018. The results show that the number of patients seeking FFS surgery has risen exponentially, with the highest demand seen for reconstruction of the upper facial third.
