Over the past few decades, the use of post-mastectomy radiation therapy for breast cancer has expanded. The aesthetic effects of radiation such as capsular contracture, fibrosis, and volume loss present a challenge for plastic surgeons. Wooram F. Jung and co-authors from Weill Cornell Medicine @WeillCornell Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery @columbiacornellplasticsurgery evaluated the evolving trends and oncologic outcomes of post-mastectomy breast reconstruction with adjuvant radiation.
