Tell us about yourself:
I'm a reconstructive microsurgeon at the University Health Network, a downtown academic hospital in Toronto. My practice is focused on breast, head and neck and lower extremity microsurgery and lymphedema.

What are your clinical interests?
My clinical interest is in microvascular oncological reconstruction of breast and head and neck. I also have an upper and lower extremity lymphedema practice.

What does your research focus on?
I have a Vascularized Composite Allotransplantation laboratory at the Toronto General Hospital Research Institute. Our research focuses on reducing ischemia reperfusion injury and identification of peripheral markers of acute rejection in a hindlimb model. We also have a preclinical model for tracheal transplantation using biomaterials and stem cell populations.

What are your goals for 2021?
My careers goal for 2021 is to continue my work in the clinical and research areas that I am passionate about. My personal goals are to enjoy time with my family and to stay healthy through weightlifting and yoga.
