About you: I was born in Tehran (Iran) and when I was 13 my family moved to Italy. I completed medical school and plastic surgery residency in Padova (Italy) and then like Marco Polo I travelled and trained around the world until I landed in Cleveland (OH). Along the way I became really interested in VCA and that motivated my fellowships in Louisville and Cleveland. Currently my practice is a mix of craniofacial surgery and hand surgery. I am the director of the plastic surgery research fellowship and codirect the cleft and craniofacial anomalies program at Cleveland Clinic!
Research Interests: Vascularized Composite Allotransplantation, Craniofacial Surgery and Hand Surgery
Why did you joing the PSRC? I love research and innovation and being a member of PSRC will allow me to be part of and exchange ideas with the plastic surgery research community.
Fun Fact: My family always made fun of me for being a terrible cook. This was not an issue while I lived in Italy but when we moved out of Italy food became a major problem. When we finally settled in Cleveland, I bought a cooking book, a scale and tried to solve this problem scientifically!
