Dr. Armin Edalatpour
Resident Physician at University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Tell us about yourself:
I am currently an integrated plastic surgery resident at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. I was born in Iran and moved to the US right before starting high school. I am very interested in global surgery, especially providing treatments that are not readily available to patients in developing countries.

What are your favorite aspects of plastic surgery?
My interests in plastic surgery was initially piqued by its anatomic and demographic diversity of the field, which allows for breadth and depth of innovation.

Why did you join PSRC?
I joined PSRC because of the incredible opportunities for exchange of information and innovative ideas among plastic surgeons that are at the peak of their field.

What are your research interests?
Currently my research focus is mainly in clinical outcomes for breast surgery/reconstruction and gender affirming surgery. In addition, because of the ongoing opioid crisis in the US, I am very interested in finding alternatives to opioids for managing postoperative pain, especially the use of CBD.

What do you like to do outside the OR?
I am a big Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Bucks fan. I love being active and spending time outside. Traveling and trying new food/wine is a big passion of mine.

What is the best advice you have ever received throughout your career?
An advice that I was given when I was very young was that "the past is behind you, learn from it, the future is coming prepare for it, and the present is now, so live it to the fullest."
