Description: The Department of Plastic Surgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is accepting applications for a term tenure track, open rank faculty appointment with a dual appointment in the Department of Stem Cell Transplantation & Cellular Therapy starting immediately. This research faculty position will be required to conduct original and creative independent research projects in plastic surgery related topics, preferably with a focus on stem cell biology and regenerative medicine. The investigator will also have the opportunity to translate their research strategies to the clinic in the Plastic Surgery Department’s applied research laboratory, Tissue Regeneration and Molecular Cell Engineering (TRAMCEL), and also in our state-of-the-art Cell Therapy-Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Laboratory. Additionally, this research position provides the investigator full access to the clinical faculty in the Department of Plastic Surgery and Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy for collaborative translational research in potential stem cell applications in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. Required Qualifications:

Applicants should have a PhD and/or MD degree (or equivalent) in cellular biology, molecular biology, or biomedical engineering. Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate and can range from Assistant to Full Professor. Candidates for this position must have demonstrated considerable ability in independent research with a consistent record of successful peer-reviewed research funding (associate and full professor) or will establish their own independent research program and be expected to write grants and manuscripts for publication (assistant professor). The applicant must also be able to speak and write English fluently.
