Grants 2016-2019 Title: Large Extremity Peripheral Nerve Repair Funding: Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) Peer Reviewed Orthopedic Research Program 2015 Expansion Grant Role: Winograd (Co-I) Aims: Apply the technique of photochemical tissue bonding and amnion wrapping of autografts and acellular nerve allografts to long gap nerve injuries in a non-human primate model with the goal of providing further pre-clinical evidence to support the application of the technique to clinical peripheral nerve reconstruction. 2018-2019 Title: Large Extremity Peripheral Nerve Repair Funding: ECOR ISF Role: Winograd (PI) Aims: Apply the technique of photochemical tissue bonding and amnion wrapping of autografts and xenografts from the Gal-T Knockout swine to long gap nerve injuries in a rat sciatic nerve and non-human primate model with the goal of providing Gal-T Knockout porcine xenografts as an alternative to acellular nerve allografts for peripheral nerve reconstruction.
